Barriers to the Global Economy

High-tech business is global business these days. Being "No 1" in the UK or even any other country does not mean much when there are markets all round the world.

There are obvious barriers to global business - language barriers. However just as importantly, there are cultural barriers. Unless you overcome both of these, you will not succeed in business in that country.

There are many possible ways Tinnoco can help your business with our international networks. One example is that of patent translation, whether of your own patent or that of your competitor. There are many professional and expensive services available. We use a network of international students as a faster and less expensive option. The most common and most expensive translations are German, Chinese and Japanese.

Take as another example you want to "break into China" with your product, or find a Chinese or Tiawanese manufacturer. A very productive way to do this is to use the services of an exchange student. You, your company, the student and the students country of origin all benefit from such collaboration. The student may even know of some contacts in the foreign companies you are interested in and help initiate contact. For any company with international links or ambitions, having a foreign student work for you is a valuable experience for all

Many believe that in the future the only economy is the global economy. Where previously towns and villages had their own specialist product or trade, now countries and continents operate in a similar manner.
